Slash Anywhere ("Slash Anywhere", "we", "us", or "our") provides a browser extension that lets you create and use slash commands, reusable variables, and related productivity features.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide or that is created through your use of Slash Anywhere

• Account information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo URL associated with your Google account.
• Anonymous usage analytics: Limited, predefined information about how the extension itself is used (see Section 3). This contains no command content and no information about the websites you visit.
• Commands and configuration: Your custom commands, command values, variables, domains, and related configuration may be stored locally in your browser. If you sign in, this information is synchronized with your Slash Anywhere account.

Text entered on websites

Slash Anywhere may access text fields on websites when necessary to detect and insert commands. This text is processed locally in your browser and is not sent to our servers or stored by us.

2. How We Use Information

We use information only to provide, maintain, secure, and improve Slash Anywhere and its user-facing features, including:

• creating and authenticating your account;
• synchronizing your commands and configuration across devices;
• providing command insertion and related extension functionality;
• processing Pro subscriptions and payments; and
• understanding, in aggregate, how the extension is used and how releases compare, so we can improve it; and
• responding to support requests and complying with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for personalized or targeted advertising.

3. Product Analytics

We use PostHog (posthog.com) to collect a limited amount of privacy-friendly information about how Slash Anywhere itself is used, such as installing, setting up and using the extension's features. Analytics are designed so that they cannot contain your commands, your text, or information about the websites you visit.

Analytics records consist only of a predefined action together with technical details chosen from fixed lists we define in advance — for example the extension version, a coarse operating system and browser type (such as "mac" or "chrome"), and whether you are signed in. The extension cannot attach free-form text or any other information to these records.

Identifiers: analytics use a random anonymous identifier generated by the extension, together with a random session identifier. If you sign in, these records are linked to your internal Slash Anywhere account identifier — a random value that does not contain your name or email address.

Analytics never include: web addresses (URLs), page titles or page content, your commands, variables or their content, text you type or insert, clipboard contents, voice recordings, screenshots, authentication tokens, your name or email address, or your browsing history. Any reasons, written feedback or optional email address you choose to submit on our feedback pages are handled separately by us and are not sent to PostHog.

We have disabled location lookup from IP addresses and configured PostHog to discard IP addresses. Analytics data is not used for advertising and is not combined with data from other websites.

4. Local Storage and Cloud Synchronization

Slash Anywhere can work without an account. Before you sign in, your commands and configuration are stored locally in your browser.

When you sign in with Google, your account information and supported command configuration are synchronized with our backend so that your data can be available across devices. Command and configuration data stored in our database is encrypted.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to provide specific functionality:

• Google — for authentication and account information.
• Stripe — for Pro subscription and payment processing.
• PostHog — for the anonymous product analytics described in Section 3 (PostHog Privacy Policy).

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or unrelated purposes.

6. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information we process. Data transmitted between the extension and our services is sent over secure connections, and supported command and configuration data stored in our database is encrypted.

7. Data Retention

Analytics events are retained only for as long as they remain useful for understanding usage trends, and are deleted on request as described in Section 3.

We retain account and synchronized data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the service. If you request account deletion, we will delete your account and associated personal data, except where we are required or permitted by law to retain specific information.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, restrict, object to certain processing, request portability, and request deletion of your personal data.

9. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your Slash Anywhere account and associated personal data by emailing info@slashanywhere.com. We will process deletion requests in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

10. Children's Privacy

Slash Anywhere is not directed to a specific age group. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to how we handle personal information, we will provide appropriate notice.

13. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Slash Anywhere's use of information received from Google APIs and other user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use user data only as necessary to provide and improve the extension's disclosed functionality, do not sell user data, do not use user data for personalized advertising, and do not allow humans to read user data except where permitted by applicable policy or law.
